1.) content assignment - students will have an assignment that reinforces the content that they have been working on in class. The content assignment is due in class the following day.
2.) reading assignment - for 20 minutes, students read a self-selected text Monday through Thursday. A parent/guardian is asked to sign the student planner each night to verify that the student completed the reading. The planner is due in class each day.

Spelling: a new spelling list is given to students on Monday. They will practice in class and at home and have a test on Friday. Students need to keep their list in their Take-Home Folder so they can practice at home and in class. If a student needs a new list, they can find the words on the link above "spelling lists".
Progress Report: A homework progress report will be sent home each month showing the percentage of homework turned in for the month. A parent/guardian is asked to sign the progress report and return it to class. Each month, the students with 100% homework will be recognized in class and have their names published above and in the class newsletter.
